Ms. Martinez worked as educator and administrator in New Mexico for 17 years. Currently, she is working with the Southwest Research and Information Center (SRIC). She is with the University of New Mexico in the Language Literacy and Socio-cultural Studies Program.

Ms. Martinez is co-founder of Los Jardines Institute an educational and agricultural non-profit in the Albuquerque’s South Valley. Helping to build support for rural and urban
agriculture, sustainability, healthy communities and cultural exchange: to reclaim knowledge, build community, and power that recognizes our geographic, resource, human and species interdependence.
