This Month in the UUWC Gallery

Showing from May 12th through July 14th, 2012 five outstanding artists will be presenting their art pieces for sale in the Sanctuary and Social Hall. Meredith Chapman an inspiring oil painter that utilizes soft pastel hues to give her paintings a haunting spiritual feel. Thomas Popp has provided several oil paintings of adobe structures and southwest landscapes. He takes his paintings to a striking perspective by incorporating angular views heighten with bright earth tones. Phyllis Popp has provided several wall hanging made with fired clay. Her wall hangings make use of textural leaf shapes, hearts, and Native American symbolism. The unique combination of elements provides interest and charm to her work.
Returning artist Paige Bacon was several oil and acrylic paintings that make use of bold strokes and colors in abstract themes. She also has brought a forest scene photograph of a waterfall and babbling brook. Quite Charming! Annette Kingman has brought some of her larger oil paintings of landscapes. These paintings have such vibrant colors it is as if the landscape comes out to great you.
These artists are actively involved with the Rio Rancho Artist Association and participate in many art shows and community workshop events. Please take some time over the next few weeks to stop in the Sanctuary and Social Hall to review their artwork. A portion of all sales go to support UUWC activities!
