Coming for the month of March two new
artists will be presenting oil paintings and
watercolor paintings of various landscape
vistas and still life arrangements. Nan
Adamson and Yvonne Korotky both from
Rio Rancho, NM will be showcased in the
Sanctuary and Social Hall. These artists
are actively involved with the Rio Rancho
Artist Association and participate in many
art shows and community workshop events.
Please take some time over the next few
weeks to stop in the Sanctuary and Social
Hall to review their artwork. You might just
find a lovely painting to take home!

Just a side note for those who are unable to
travel to Unitarian Universalist Westside
Congregation or find it difficult to visit
the church during business hours can
review some of the artwork online at UUWC
website, Artist’s Corner
,  Delivery and
shipping can be arranged for a minimal fee.

Hello Everybody! As many of you may have heard I will be taking the helm on the local art scenes in the Rio Rancho, Corrales, Albuquerque and surrounding areas. Thea Morton is still very much involved in the art scene and will be assisting me as she can with art presentations and local art news. The coming monthly articles will focus mainly on visual arts and highlighting two to three community events, exploring art in history, and artist’s reviews.

With February being Black History month, I felt it would be an excellent opportunity to explore the contributions that Black artist have given to the art community. Many of these unsung artisans have inspired countless individuals to reach for their innate artistic dreams in spite of the social and financial obstacles that can impair them…
