SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEES
- get to know us while helping your community.

Loose Ends:  Loose Ends oversees UUWC’s cash, food, and clothing donations to Storehouse West.  We mend donated clothes, make quilts and other items for fundraising or as needed by our congregation.  While doing something useful with our hands, we enjoy each other’s company. Come join us!

Gently used clothing for teens, non perishable foods (including pet food), aluminum cans and working cell phones are collected throughout the month and delivered to StoreHouse West after the first Sunday of each month. Working cell phones are donated to RR families in distress.  No worries if you don’t know how to delete your personal information.  StoreHouse West ensures all information is cleared and provides phone cards to recipients.  This is a safe process; I’ve donated a phone and had no issues.

Social Action CommitteeWe support the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, a national UU organization working to promote social justice and humanitarian programs in the U.S. and worldwide.  We also support gay rights and participate in the annual ABQ Gay Pride Parade.  We also sponsor Westside Forum, a monthly series featuring speakers, panels and guests entertainers in programs of community interest.
