Program Planning Committee

Service Planning Committee is an opportunity to directly impact what topics are spoken about on Sunday mornings. Main speakers, worship associates, and anyone with input on topic ideas is welcomed! This committee meets the first Sunday of the month at 12:30 p.m. in the Conference Room.

With the move to visual presentations, help is needed with the creation of graphics, slideshows, and projecting the finished products during the Service and other progr

Social Justice Committee

The cornerstone of Unitarian Universalism is radical Social Justice. This collegial committee meets every 4th Sunday of the month. Find out more about UUWC’s approach to Social Justice. Stewardship Committee

This committee is focused on the care and ability of the Church to function and grow.  We work to make it easy for people to help make a difference in the life of the Church.  Meetings dates and times vary. Please contact the Treasurer Ruth Tucker Bogart for more information.

Town Hall Meetings

The Congregation and Friends participate in monthly Town Hall meetings, which occur on the Third Sunday of each month after the Weekly Program Service, to discuss activities of the Congregation. Typically, a pot luck luncheon accompanies these meetings. In January of each calendar year the Congregation meets in formal session to discuss, amend, reject, or approve the direction of the congregation in guiding future activities.

Building Cleaning Team

Volunteers serve to clean the building each week, empty the trash, and prepare for the next week’s activities. Active members include: Kathy Wright, Matt Eldringhoff, Donna Johnston, Janet Bellamy, Melinda Lewis, and Lynne Menefee. Additional volunteers are needed so that no undue burden falls on any one volunteer.

Building and Grounds Team

This group of volunteers work to maintain and improve the building and to see that the grounds are properly maintained. Delbert Schafer, John Stover, and Cathy Donovan work on the building. Becks Choudhury, John Fischer, and Charlie  help maintain the grounds, and Dee Curry maintains the two labyrinths.

Security Team

The supervision of keeping the members of the congregation safe while they are on premises is major objective. Please contact the council if you’re interested in our security team.

Men’s Group

The men’s group is active and meets, typically the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. Please let us know if you’d like to participate.

Women’s Groups

This group is open to all members and friends who identify as female. Please contact Rev Nancy Hitt for more details as the women’s groups restructure.

Endowments Committee

Three members of the congregation oversee endowment funds that may be used for projects to benefit UUWC.

Art Show Team

The UUWC art show, Enchanted Vision, is on for 2024 Please contact Carole Eagleheart if you wish to help!

CUUPS Team

The participants in the Covenant of Unitarian Universalists Pagans organize frequent activities throughout the year.

Nominating Committee

This committee heads the outlook for members of the congregation to assume leadership positions.

Committee on Shared Ministry

This three-person group serves to assure that the Ministerial mission and the spiritual needs of the congregation remains in sync. They are nominated by the Minister and approved by the Council.

UU Humanist Team

The participants study and facilitate the role and voice of Humanism in the activities of the  UU Westside Congregation.

Drumming Circle Team

UUWC holds periodic sessions of drumming activities. 

Animal Ministry Team

The members provided reflections on animals in the Sunday services. They also are developing programs to benefit animals in our environment. 

Technology Team

Members work to keep the technology requirements of UUWC operating efficiently. 

Kitchen and Food Service Team

The members of this team make sure that the beverage and food service goes smoothly each week, and especially during the potluck that typically accompanies the monthly Town Hall Meetings.

Recycling Team

The members of this team oversee the collection of newspapers, which are donated to a private individual, and of aluminum cans that are sold to an area recycler.
