Unitarian Universalist Association News & Events
A new way of thinking about the people that you find yourself among.
You may access the March 30th speech by the UUA President Rev. Dr. Social Betancourt on the “State of the Association 2026: What the Moment Asks of Unitarian Universalists.” UUWC gathered on Monday to hear the speech and many were impressed with the breadth of activities of our denomination. Highly recommended to give it a watch.
On Monday, March 30th at 1pm, our UUA President, the Rev. Dr. Sofia Betancourt will be delivering a “State of the Association” address. We will be able to view it in our Sanctuary on our screens- for which we thank Wendy Dampier who has arranged her schedule to make this possible!
Rev. Sofia was recently arrested for demonstrating against ICE; she is a leader who brings vision, thoughtfulness, and lived experience to us. I encourage you to join us in the Sanctuary a bit before 1pm and then stay to discuss it afterward.
If your schedule does not allow for this, I have included a link to the announcement that was on Facebook. You should be able to access it there if you are also on Facebook.
This is a great opportunity for us to explore the directions of our denomination and increase our connectedness with them.

It has been another terrible season for natural disasters. Helene struck coastal and mountainous communities in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolinas, and Virginia. The storm brought extensive damage and a death toll of more than 230 people. Less than two weeks later, Hurricane Milton barreled into Florida bringing destructive rain, wind, and storm surges.
If your congregation or community has been impacted by either of these storms, please use this link to apply for a grant from the UUA’s Disaster Relief Fund. Your community of faith is with you in this time. We offer you our care and are organizing to assist you with the material support you need. We can’t do it all, but we are here with you as part of a committed network of care.
