Our service references the movie, “Sister Act” starring Whoopi Goldberg. (1992) Why, you ask? Because in October Rev Nancy pointed out that being more aware of our congregational dynamics and intentional about the ideal community we seek to create is important to our survival. Believe it or not, the circumstances, hijinx, and dynamics of the sisters in the convent offer us some solid insight into ourselves and our success. Plus- it was fun! Any time Whoopi shows up in a nun’s habit you can expect to laugh!
We observed Bodhi Day, a day dedicated to celebrating Gautama Buddha’s enlightenment.
