  1. We were so glad to see Dana in the Friends and Family segment, and we thank him very much for sharing some of his life story and his remarkable poetry. We benefitted from our speaker’s thoughts and words and are grateful to know more about the Veterans for Peace organization; excellent presenter. We liked the opening and closing music. I am particularly sad today to hear of Alex Trebec’s passing this morning; he was so courageous and generous in sharing his path as he navigated through cancer and contemplating his looming death. I was very glad to have heard him say that he was not afraid to die and glad that he was able to continue working on Jeopardy until the very end. I also mourn the loss of Ronni Bennett, whose blog Time Goes By, about aging, her cancer diagnosis and treatment, and the practical and spiritual aspects of contemplating mortality, brought so much camaraderie and thoughtfulness to her readers. We all feel like friends through our connection with her. She lived in Oregon and was able to avail herself of the Medical Aid in Dying that can bring comfort and control to a person’s death experience. These deaths brought memories with Marienne and Robert from our congregation and both joy and sadness at our memories. And to Bram’s little doggie in her reading, I offer my left slipper.
