In this service we explored the mystery of the ancient celebration of Samhain, a festival that marked the end of harvest and the entrance into the dark time of year, a time of both death and rebirth. Members were invited to bring photos or mementos of loved ones who have died .
Carole Eagleheart and Donna Johnston will help us become more aware of the gifts of the earth in a program called The Bounty of Summer. They’ll tell us about ancient festivals around the Northern Hemisphere celebrating the first fruits of the harvest. We will explore how these celebrations can enrich our lives.
Our service this week is a celebration of the beginning of summer that harks back to our Pagan roots and embraces our current wisdom about ecology, the earth, and our personal gardens.
